Platewell is a recipe keeper for the whole household. Keep the family's recipes together, plan what you are cooking this week, and pull up a recipe in a kitchen even when the wifi is flaky or out.

Cross-platform sync
Two people editing on two phones, no conflict to resolve.
Recipes live on every device and sync between them. When two members of the household change the same recipe at the same time, both sets of changes are kept — nobody is ever asked which version to throw away.
- Shared with the household. Collections, tags, recipes and the meal plan reach every member and every device.
- Personal where it should be. Your favourites are yours — they sync to your other devices, not to everyone else's.
- Roles that fit a family. Owners and editors add and change recipes; viewers browse everything, and can still favourite.
Works fully offline
The basement, the cottage, full recipe library at your fingertips.
Everything you type is written to the device first, so the app never waits on a request to show your own work. Browse, search, edit, plan and favourite with the network off entirely; changes go up whenever a connection comes back.
- Search works offline too. The index lives on the device, so finding a recipe never depends on a server.
- Photos are taken now, uploaded later. A photo attaches to the recipe the moment you take it and queues for upload.
- Read-only mode is still browsable. When the app cannot write, the whole library and the schedule is always available.
Import recipes
Bring in what you already have. No retyping.
Import from a photo of a cookbook page, a PDF, a Word or OpenDocument file, a text file, a schema.org JSON export or a recipe URL. Platewell reads the source, pulls out the ingredients, steps and tags, and files the result in the collection you chose for imports.
- Bulk on web, camera on mobile. Drop up to 300 files in one session on the web, or import from a photo or URL on your phone.
- Duplicates caught before they land. A close match to a recipe you already have is flagged rather than added — import it anyway if you meant to.
- Sessions you can come back to. Close the tab mid-import; the session and every file's status are still there.
The schedule
What are we cooking, and when?
The schedule is the household meal plan: recipes mapped onto calendar days, shared with everyone. Plan a recipe for as many days as you like, put as many recipes as you like on one day, and open a day to see the whole menu.
- Month grid and week list. The calendar for the shape of the month, the agenda list for reading a week top to bottom.
- Plan from either end. Pick a recipe for a day, or pick a day and go find the recipe — Platewell remembers which day you were filling.
- Same data as the recipe. Planning a meal and marking a recipe cooked are two views of one cook date.

The small things that make a big library usable.
None of these need a network either. Every one of them is on web and mobile unless noted.
Collections
Recipe books for the household. Every recipe belongs to at least one, and every household starts with Main.
Tags
Free-form labels like weeknight or slow cooker, tidied on save and shown in the casing your household prefers.
Search
Ranked full-text search across titles, ingredients, steps, notes and tags. Prefixes and typos still find the recipe.
Favourites
A personal shortcut list, not a shared one. Star a recipe on any device and it is waiting on the others.
Step through results
Open a recipe from a search or a collection and page through the rest of the matches without going back to the list.
Sharing
Send a link to one recipe or a whole collection. The recipient can save a copy into their own household.
Keyboard shortcuts
On the web: jump to search, step through results, move around the schedule. Every shortcut has a button too.
Revision history
See what changed on a recipe and restore an earlier version. The one feature that needs a connection.
